GGUSD Student Wins Districtwide Spelling Bee for Third Year in a Row

Garden Grove Unified School District (GGUSD) held its 32nd Annual 7th and 8th Grade Spelling Bee on January 16 at the Edgar District Meeting Center. Bell Intermediate School student Brandon Tran edged out 40 other GGUSD intermediate school students, correctly spelling lederhosen to place first for the third year in a row.

GGUSD Announces Partnership with Rancho Santiago Community College District

Garden Grove Unified School District (GGUSD) and Rancho Santiago Community College District (RSCCD) will partner with Santa Ana Community College on a new Early College High School program that will be offered at Santiago High School beginning the 2019-2020 school year. The Early College High School model program allows high school students to simultaneously earn high school and college credits beginning their freshman year.

GGUSD Hosts 6th Annual Latinos Unidos Conference

The sixth annual Garden Grove Unified School District (GGUSD) Latino Unidos Conference was held January 12 on the campus of California State University California, Fullerton with over 200 students in attendance. The conference is organized by district-level Latinos Unidos student board members to provide leadership training and help students prepare for academic, personal, and lifelong success.

arden Grove Unified School District has expanded its Mobile School Food Pantry program, which launched last year at Peters K-3 and Peters 4-6 elementary schools in partnership with the Second Harvest Food Bank of Orange County. During the 2018-2019 school year, the mobile food pantry program will be offered again at Peters Elementary School, and also at Heritage Elementary Computer Science Immersion Academy and Violette Elementary School.
