Substitute Teacher Opportunities
Salary for substitute teachers is $130.00 day to day and $155.00 after the 10th day in the same classroom. The Garden Grove Unified School District offers a tiered salary after 50 days worked of $140.00 per day, after 100 days worked, $145.00 per day and after 150 days worked, $150.00 per day. Requirements for applying:
A Multiple Subject Credential, Single Subject Credential, or Education Specialist Credential is preferred. We will also accept applications from candidates without a teaching credential if they have a Bachelor’s Degree and have passed the CBEST, CSET, CSU Early Assessment Program or CSU Placement Examinations, College Board AP exams, basic skills exam from another state or achieved a qualifying score on the SAT or ACT. CLASSROOM EXPERIENCE IS PREFERRED AND TECHNOLOGY SKILLS ARE HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

Those candidates who are offered employment will need to submit the following documents: Valid TB screening test results, original Driver’s License and original Social Security card, fingerprint clearance receipt from the OC Department of Education Clearing House. No other fingerprint clearance will be accepted. If you do not have clearance through OCDE, please call (714) 966-4306, to schedule an appointment.
