Welcome Stanley Friends and Families!

I'm looking forward to another wonderful year at Stanley! I have no doubt that this year will be filled with hard work and enormous success for everyone.  Throughout the year they attend a variety of inservices and work together to refine their instructional skills.Our teachers are dedicated to your child’s academic success.    Families play a vital role in the educational success of their children.  Research shows that the more involved parents are in their child’s education, the more the child succeeds. Your support is essential to your child’s success in school. When the school, home and child work together, the child receives the best possible education.  You can help by:
 

• Ensuring that your child is ready to learn at school:  well-rested, well-groomed with school materials, and arrives on timeCheck papers, textbooks, and other materials sent home to know what your child is learning.  Attend all conferences and school functions.  Keep the line of communication between home and school open.Ensure a time and place for your child to complete homework.  Provide positive reinforcement and consistent consequences at home to support the classroom teacher.  Encourage and maintain a positive attitude towards school.
• Thursday folders:  Each Thursday, your child will be coming home with their blue folder that contains school and classroom information.  Be sure to return the folders each Friday.

This year we have new school hours: 

    Kindergarten: 8:20-12:10 (unchanged Monday thru Friday)                    Grades 1st thru 6th: 8:20-2:40 Wednesdays: 8:20-1:50 

We are fortunate to have the Boys and Girls Club of Garden Grove on our campus.  They offer a daily after school program for a limited number of students in grades 2nd-6th. If you are interested, please stop in our office to pick up an application for your child or call Boys and Girls Club at (1714) 317-9561. 

The staff and I are committed to making the 2011-2012 school year exciting and rewarding for your children.  Stanley Students are GRRREAT!
