A credentialed registered school nurse is on campus two days a week.
If a student needs assistance obtaining medical care or insurance,
dental care, or vision services the nurse has access to agencies that
can help. The health office phone number is 663-6375.

Before admission to La Quinta, all new students must have a Tb test
done within the last 18 months (and chest xray with results if Tb test
is positive). Students must also have the following immunizations:
(1) Polimyelitis, (2)DPT (diptheria, pertussis, and tetanus),
(3) MMR (measles, mumps and rubella) or MR (measles and rubella),
(4) Hepatitis B, and (5) either proof of chicken pox or documentation of
the varicella vaccine. GGUSD operates a clinic at the Assessment &
Registration Center at Cook Elementary school which provides
immunizations, Tb testing and school physicals. Call 663-6411 for
information regarding clinic times and services.

All 10th grade students are screened yearly for vision and hearing.
If a problem is noted, the parent/guardian will be notified by mail.
Students new to La Quinta are also screened for vision and hearing
deficits that may interfere with the ability to learn.
