Despite the economy, Thinking Thursday will continue throughout the 2011/2012 school year. A special thank you to our faithful sponsors (i.e. anonymous, teachers, organizations and corporations) who have graciously provided funds for many of our Thinking Thursday literature books.  Because of their generousity, we were able to give away over 200 enjoyable literature books to our Garden Park students.

Every Thursday, the principal poses a literature question over the P.A. system.  The answer to his literature question is always the title of a literature book. The students who know the answer, write it down on a Thinking Thursday form and give the completed form to the principal (click here for a copy of the Thinking Thursday form).  On Friday, three to five names will be randomly selected from the entries.  These winners will be acknowledged during the flag salute assembly and they will each receive a copy of the literature book.

One of our many goals here at Garden Park Elementary is to foster a love for books.  Through our Thinking Thursday program, our students have an opportunity to build their personal library with quality literature books they have come to love.

Congratulations Garden Park Geckos.  Keep on reading!
