Claude Monet was born on November 14, 1840, in the city of Paris.  Did you know that Mr. Monet’s first name is Oscar?  Did you know that at the age of five, Monet gained a noticeable reputation for drawing detailed caricatures?  Did you know that Oscar Claude Monet was the founder of Impressionism?  Monet earned the title “Father of Impressionism” by seeing the world through a unique set of eyes where light and dark colors reigned.  His incandescent and gleaming masterpieces not only inspired and lead pioneering artists to break from the traditional way of painting.
