Vincent van Gogh was born on March 30, 1853, in the small village of Groot-Zundert.  He was a man who painted compassionately.  According to some writers, the results of Vincent van Gogh’s unhappy and tragic life are beautiful, expressive paintings of a world that did not accept or understand him.  Did you know that Vincent painted over 30 self-portraits?  It makes you wonder how many photos of himself he would have taken if he owned a camera.

Pictured below you will find a small sample of the many products ours students created after learning about Vincent van Gogh and his artistic styles. In addition, our students learned to appreciate van Gogh's brilliant use of color and line while studying his use of texture.  As you can see, we used oil pastel and black construction paper to model some of the artistic techniques of Vincent van Gogh.
