We are kicking off our annual GGUSD Charity Campaign today on November 13, 2017. The campaign runs through December 22 and is the perfect opportunity for GGUSD employees to express our generosity and make a one-time pledge or ongoing payroll deduction to support our non-profit partners that do so much for GGUSD students, families, and communities. Let’s make 2017 our most generous year yet and show our partners just how important they are to us. There is no better time than during the holiday season to help families in need and the GGUSD Charity Campaign does just that.
GGUSD employees may contribute to:
Contributions to Orange County United Way's community impact fund allows United Way to help support and manage numerous programs, initiatives and services in the areas of education, income, health and housing. Programs that include "Read Aloud 15 Minutes," "K-3 Read & Succeed," and "Destination Graduation" help enrich the education of our students and reduce the high school dropout rate. Orange County United Way works closely with GGUSD to improve educational opportunities from cradle to career.
GGUSD and the Boys and Girls Club of Garden Grove (BGCGG) have enjoyed a wonderful relationship for nearly 30 years. BGCGG serves more than 17,000 individuals each year in GGUSD with before and after-school academic enrichment programs, tutoring, dental, vision, and health services, school-based counseling, and prevention and intervention programs.
Helping Others Prepare for Eternity (H.O.P.E.) is a one-stop safety net provider that has long served GGUSD families through a variety of services including: a food pantry to prevent food insecurity in low-income children, a mentoring and after-school tutoring program, STEM, arts education, music lessons, family counseling, and more.
Community Health Charities is a nonprofit that raises awareness and resources for health and wellness by supporting more than 2,000 of the most trusted health charities across the United States, including more than 50 local chapters of national health charities that provide free and low cost services and medical research including the Alzheimer's Association, the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, Ronald McDonald House Charities, and March of Dimes.
