Date: Immediate Supplemental Learning Materials on Public Display New support materials recommended for adoption and purchase by the Garden Grove Unified School District will be on public display through February 2 at the district administration office, 10331 Stanford Avenue, Garden Grove. The new materials are for the grades K-12 Substance Abuse curriculum, 7th-grade Family Life, Adult Living, Student Parent Program, Health Education, and 8th-grade Drug Abuse Prevention. Regular preview times are weekdays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the Textbook Preview Area, with a special examination period on Wednesday, January 21, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., in the district office annex building. An evaluation form will be provided for visitors. The Board of Education is scheduled to consider adoption of the recommended instructional materials at its meeting on February 3 for classroom use beginning this spring. All instructional materials on display are recommended for Board of Education adoption after a parent review period and following extensive evaluation by teachers, GGUSD staff, and school district administrators. Materials are evaluated based on accuracy, organization of content, and evidence the program is scientifically research-based.
