Date: Immediate Los Amigos High Tet Dance Team to Perform at Monroe Elementary School The Tet Dance Team of the Asian Student Union from Los Amigos High School in Fountain Valley will be welcoming in the Year of the Monkey with cultural dances performed for youngsters at nearby Monroe Elementary School on Thursday, Jan. 8. Monroe School is located at 16225 Newhope St., Fountain Valley. The celebration of Tet, the Vietnamese lunar New Year, begins Thursday, Jan. 22. The 30 visiting high school students will perform the dragon dance, the hat dance, and showcase traditional songs at 8:30 a.m. with a repeat performance at 9:30 a.m. Students at Monroe School have been encouraged to wear traditional Asian clothing for the day. The Asian Student Union has been active in promoting Asian cultural activities in Orange County since 1978. Teacher Steve Trotter serves as faculty advisor.
