Entries Invited for Senior Citizen Art Show



Monday, May 17, between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m., is the entry submission date for “Ageless Expressions,” a juried fine arts and crafts show taking place May 17-20 at Chapman Education Center, 11852 Knott St., Garden Grove (corner of Chapman and Knott). No entry fee is required, and there is a limit of one artwork per category.

This 19th annual art showcase features the talents of senior citizens in painting, ceramics, fiber arts, costume jewelry, sculpture, photography, and crafts. Free public viewing dates are May 19-20, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., with the awards ceremony scheduled on May 20 at 1 p.m. All entries are displayed in the multi-purpose room.

Closed judging is scheduled on May 18 for beginning, intermediate, and advanced levels in all art show categories. Ribbons will be presented for first, second, and third place, and a “Best of Show” in each level.

“Ageless Expressions” is sponsored by Garden Grove Unified School District Adult Education, the City of Garden Grove, H. Louis Lake Senior Citizen Center, Acacia Adult Day Services, LaDoris Sam Heinley, Summerville at Garden Manor, and the Orange County Ophthalmology Medical Group.
