Date: Immediate GGUSD Choral Students to Join Pacific Symphony's Concert Young voices representing the Garden Grove Unified School District will join other talented school children from throughout Orange County at the Pacific Symphony’s 25th Anniversary Concert, “A Celebration Music,” taking place Sunday, June 13, 7:30 p.m., at the Pacific Amphitheater in Costa Mesa. Conducted by Carl St.Clair, the season-ending musical extravaganza includes the premiere of “On Music’s Wings,” a commissioned work by Peter Boyer that calls for a boys choir, adult choir, vocal soloists, a large orchestra, high school honor chorus, and the “Anthem Chorus” of approximately 600 elementary and intermediate school students from the county. Eighty-three choral students from the district’s GATE elementary and intermediate vocal ensembles, plus 18 members of the Allen Elementary School honor chorus, will be part of the Anthem Chorus singing in a processional on the outdoor stage. These district choirs are under the direction of teachers Tom Ringland, GATE elementary; James Keltner, GATE intermediate; and Paula Wacker, Allen Elementary School.
