Pacifica High Hosts Holiay Party for Local Children

Seniors at Pacifica High School in Garden Grove will show their holiday spirit and generosity as they entertain more than 230 kindergarten students and disabled youngsters who will meet Santa Claus and open donated presents during a party on Wednesday, Dec. 17. The program is scheduled from 9 a.m. to noon in the campus gymnasium, 6851 Lampson Ave. (at Knott).

Busloads of visiting children from Eisenhower, Clinton-Mendenhall, Riverdale, and Parkview elementary schools in Garden Grove become the focus of attention as special guests of Pacifica’s 386 senior class members. Many of the youngsters come from disadvantaged families who lack the means to purchase many holiday gifts.

For the traditional ‘Adopt-a-Child’ party, Pacifica senior class members bring two toys that are given away by Santa. Each senior also purchases a special gift and shares personal time with the youngsters with whom they are paired. Due to the generosity of the Pacifica students this year, each child will have his or her photograph taken with Santa Claus and enjoy plenty of candy, cookies and punch.
