Recommended English-Language Arts Novels Go On Display

New literature recommended for use in grades 7-12 English–Language Arts classes is being put on public display by the Garden Grove Unified School District from March 1 through April 3 at the district administration office, 10331 Stanford Ave., Garden Grove.

Preview times are weekdays, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., in the Textbook Preview Area, with extended viewing hours on Tuesday, March 9, 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.

The Board of Education is scheduled to consider adoption of the recommended literature at its April 16 meeting for introduction in the 2004-05 school year.

The novels are recommended for Board of Education adoption following extensive evaluation by classroom teachers, parents, and school administrators. The quality literature is also studied to ensure alignment with state-adopted academic content standards for each grade level in English-Language Arts.

Further information may be obtained by calling the Office of 7-12 Instruction, (714) 663-6454.
