GG Masons to Honor Intermediate School Students

As part of Public Schools Week activities in the Garden Grove Unified School District, 20 outstanding intermediate school students will be honored for their classroom achievements by local Masons on Tuesday, April 27, during an awards ceremony attended by GGUSD, City of Garden Grove, and Masonic leaders.

The students, two from each of the district's 10 intermediate schools (grades 7-8), will be recognized by the Acacia Grove Lodge No. 351 as part of the Masons’ yearly observance of Public Schools Week. The program will begin at 7 p.m. at the Masonic Lodge, 11270 Acacia Parkway, Garden Grove.

Selections for the awards were based on such factors as leadership, campus service, citizenship, and academic excellence. The recipients are: Alamitos - Vincent Lee and Rebecca Goia, Bell - Nicholas Mahler and Pauline Dinh, Doig - Matthew Montano and Nhi Dinh, Fitz - Christopher Martinez and Crystal Mendez, Irvine - Nelson Vu and Khanh Tran, Jordan - Alexander Le and Kimanh Nguyen, Lake - Colin Price and Erica Carrillo, McGarvin - Johnseth Chong and Stephanie Nguyen, Ralston - Christopher Lee and Tina Vo, and Walton - Khanh Lieu and Natali Arredondo.

Public Schools Month has been sponsored and promoted by the Free and Accepted Masons of California since 1920. Masonic lodges in each area, together with local school districts, select a week in April as a special time for the discussion of public schools.
