Date: Immediate Irvine Int. School to Host 'Old Time' Melodrama Come cheer for the hero and boo at the evil villain. "Song of the Mounties," an old-fashioned melodrama, is being presented by Irvine Intermediate School in Garden Grove on Thursday, Jan. 15, 7 p.m., in the school multi-purpose room, 10552 Hazard Ave. Reminiscent of old vaudeville shows, the production will open with olios and blackouts, followed by an audience sing-along. Under the direction of teacher Sara Minton, the show features Kevin Guy as Sgt. Bob Sledd, Yosune Gomez as Claudette Beaucoup, Patrick Nguyen as Dirty Jake Le Phew, Shahana Ali as Mayo River, Issac Tucker as Zachariah Pumphandle, and Richard Messersmith as Yukon Mutt. Advance tickets are $3 each at the school or $4 each at the door on the night of the performance. Children 5 years old and under are free. Call the school at 714-663-6551 for additional information.
