Date: Immediate Two Teachers Being Honored for 40-Year of Services to GGUSD Lynn Charron, a fifth-grade teacher at Monroe Elementary School, and Shirley Hull, a science teacher at Doig Intermediate School, are being honored Tuesday, Dec. 2, for 40 years of service to the Garden Grove Unified School District. They are among only 20 current and former GGUSD employees to reach the 40-year service milestone. The pair of teachers top the list of 494 GGUSD staff members receiving service pins at the annual Employee Recognition Program, 3:30 p.m., in the Los Amigos High School Little Theater, 16566 Newhope St., Fountain Valley. The specially designed lapel pins are being awarded to employees with 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, 35, or 40 years of service with the district. Among the large group of recipients this year, 39 employees are receiving 35-year service pins. Pins are being presented to Merlin Allred and Sherye Ayres, teachers at Santiago High School; Joan Bartrug, teacher at Sunnyside Elementary School; Ed Caruthers, adaptive physical education teacher; Howard Clarke Jr., teacher at Bolsa Grande High School; Jim De Long, director of continuing and alternative education; Eileen Dibb, director of employee-employer relations; Leslie Foote and Billie-Lou Mitchell, teachers at Stanford Elementary School; Jim Franks, furniture repairer at the district Maintenance Center; Drinda Frenzel, district music teacher; Armand Hanson, teacher at Hare High School; Dennis Harmon, warehouse stock clerk; Barbara Hoekstra, teacher at Excelsior Elementary School; Larry Hummer and Sharon Love, teachers at Los Amigos High School; Norma Jones, teacher at Gilbert Elementary School; Michelle Kelly, teacher at Doig Intermediate School; William Kibbey Jr., head custodian at Bryant Elementary School; Lisa Kincaid-Schiendler, teacher at Clinton-Mendenhall Elementary School; Carol Koch, teacher at Jordan Intermediate School; Courtney Lantz, David Reid, Carol Scott, and Regina Taylor, teachers at Pacifica High School; Winnie Leeb, teacher at La Quinta High School; Edith Levy, teacher at Violette Elementary School; Vicki Mac Intyre, teacher at Lawrence Elementary School; Mary Makena, teacher at Rancho Alamitos High School; Thelma McNeil, special education coordinator; Linda Nesler-Winter and Nancy Smith, teachers at Patton Elementary School; Karen Nishkian, teacher at Enders Elementary School; Chloris Poggiogalle, teacher at Evans Elementary School; Patricia Roethlisberger, teacher at Woodbury Elementary School; Adele Ryan, district psychologist; Lona Satrappe, teacher at Morningside Elementary School; Evangeline Schooler, teacher at Carver Elementary School; and George Shigematsu, special education specialist. Along with the 35-year pin recipients, the district is awarding 30-year service pins to 57 employees, 25-year pins to 70 employees, 20-year pins to 52 employees, 15-year pins to 133 employees, and 10-year pins to 141 employees.
