School Wide Instructional Model (SWIM) is a dynamic service delivery model where all resources at a school site are maximized to move closer to the goal of meeting the needs of all students and each student. The school site maximizes staff by utilizing the general education teachers, resource teacher, mild/moderate teacher, and school psychologist in addition to instructional aides, part-time teachers, and site facilitators in order to help provide support to all students. In order for SWIM to be successful there are three key elements or practices that need to be in place.
All students receive instruction within the Houghton Mifflin Language Arts program. Students who are in the intensive band receive Houghton Mifflin in addition to accelerated intervention within the Language! program.
