5 Things I Look for in my Scholars:
1. Kindness. This is the most important quality I would like my scholars to have. I expect my students to treat each other with kind words and an understanding attitude.
2. Respectful attitude. I often tell my students, "Speak in a way that makes the person want to listen to you." I also expect my students to treat others the way they would like to be treated.
3. Organization. I expect my students to keep their work and belongings neat and orderly. This is key to not losing things and getting work and studying done.
4. Open mind. I welcome new ways to think, to solve problems, and to analyze subjects. It is important that students are open to new ideas and challenge themselves to "think outside the box."
5. Responsibilty. It's important that scholars have both the brains and good work ethics.
