How to Plan for College (PDF)
A-G Requirements
The minimum requirements for admission to any of the University of California (UC) campuses or the California State University (CSU) campuses are as follows. (A grade of C or better is required in each semester of A-G classes.)

World History/Cultures/ Geography - 1 year

College Prep English - 4 years |

Advanced Math (Algebra, Geometry, Algebra 2)
3 years required; 4 years recommended |

Laboratory Science (Biology, Chemistry, Physical Science)
2 years required; 3 or more years recommended
(The UC only accepts Physical Science as a "G" course. The CSU is in the process of evaluating its acceptance of Physical Science in the "D" subject area. |

Foreign Language
2 years of the same language required; 3 or 4 years recommended |

Visual and Performing Arts
1 year-long course |

1 year of advanced college prep electives
